What was your favorite toy when you were a child?

By far, my favorite "toy" consisted of sheets, rakes, brooms and my grandmothers lawn.  I would spend hours building and reconfiguring a make-believe world of luminously walled canyons and secret coveys in the sunny backyard.  It was withing these breezy, shadowed and shifting fortresses that my brother and I would contemplate how it was that we would live as adults.  We also laughed a lot as we spoke of how the world would never know we were coming until we had already conquered it with our plans which usually included some sort of philanthropic sceme which required a miracle.
